Breakfast with the Devil is a Yugoslav feature film shot in 1971, directed by Miroslav Antic, who also wrote the screenplay. The action takes place in a village in Vojvodina in the summer of 1945. The newly established communist government introduces a mandatory grain purchase, which, when the same village is hit by a flood, will have catastrophic consequences. Breakfast with the Devil is one of the most obscure films of Yugoslav cinematography, which is explained by its extremely critical attitude towards the then regime, as well as by the fact that its premiere coincided with the beginning of the campaign against the Black Wave. After it was shown at the Pula Festival, it was put in a storage where it would spend several decades.
